Men As a Group (SUMMARY)

Men As a Group (SUMMARY)

As I waited for Dr. Tania Reynolds’ , Kinsey Institute moral research to be published I began another series for A Voice for Men.

I was planning on attending the Mohamed Noor Trial and Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations against Brett Kavanaugh were a good backdrop to discuss the media’s role in Minnesota Moral Panics.

Provocatively titled, “Men as a Group are Stupid; They Could Learn a Lot from Women; They Better Ask for Help” it again generated controversy at the men’s issues site.

Like my previous series, “There’s a Flaw in All Men; We’re Doomed; Only Women Can Save The Day” it was based on Dr. Laurie Rudmans’ research on Gender Differences in Automatic Ingroup Bias.

Because Dr. Reynold’s solid research was not yet published, I would still be writing in “MN Nice”.

Although I would not write about the ASCHITI Model of Gender Perception for two years, hearing of Dr. Tania Reynold’s work on Heterodox Academy made me slightly more confident in my hypothesis.

There was something in human perception that was being exploited that allowed these panics to spread from Minnesota.

I also wanted to make the case that rather than rely on Women as a solution to the automatic out group derogation of men as I’d proposed in my first series, a solution might be found by increasing the persuasion power of men.

Persuasion is a set of skills that can be learned and taught. Norman Vincent Peale, Robert Cialdini and Scott Adams are excellent resources.

Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford had “credibly accused”  Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault. That didn’t mean that I believed her, it meant people were going to believe her.

Both Scott Adams and Tucker Carlson had been accused of harming women they’d never met.

My writings often deal with local media reports of police homicides, and Thurman Blevins had recently been killed while running AWAY from Minneapolis Police so I compared that coverage to Damond’s coverage.

Due to the rising political climate I decided to release a political statement comparing Viktor Frankl to Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.  Gist: Gulags and Concentration camps look the same on the inside.

Noam Chomsky’s “Manufactured Consent” suggested a lot about media relating to Christine Blasey Ford.  Women control 83% of consumer spending.  Media messaging will target their interests and cater to their biases.

The Trial of Mohamed Noor

Keith Ellison and Ilhan Omar who’ve run on a platform of Muslim rights said nothing about Noor. The news media often misrepresented what was happening in the courtroom.

During the trial, I had my first email exchange with Dr. Tania Reynolds.

A man harming a Woman who conformed to traditional gender roles (saving ducks from sewers, rescuing dogs) was certain to generate outrage.

The Media

When non citizen activist Ana Maria Achilla stormed the capitol and pinned Sen. Jeff Flake in an elevator, she was lauded as a hero. Flanked by a camera crew, she screamed and cried, told him to think of his children and grandchildren, then went and hugged and smiled at her friend for a photo op.

I quoted the late songwriter and ASCAP VP Ralph Murphy, “Half of songs are purchased by Women, the other half are purchased by men who want to look good singing them to Women” in describing the marketplace of pop music.

I brought up media coverage of cases like Lorena Bobbit, Jodi Arias where a male victim was demonized in court and in the press as a persuasion defense.

Finally, I compared the media reporting on Australian woman Justine Damond, killed in an instant and Australian man Julian Assange being killed in slow motion.

The summary of this article is men may have benefits as individuals but they do not receive benefits as a group as commonly accepted gender theory, would have you believe.
