I was getting ready to begin releasing a series of articles celebrating Black History Month when the news hit that there was a school shooting at Richfield South Education Center, in my neighborhood.
This school teaches Kindergarten through 12th Grade.
Grieving parents are meeting at Donaldson’s Park right near my home. One child is dead and another wounded.
School District Superintendent Lewandowski did not have any of the details on the shooting. (Minnesota Public Radio)
When every other teacher in the country was saying no one was using Critical Race Theory in K12 Schools, Superintendent Lewandowski made sure to make a clear statement that Critical Racism was a priority for her school district.
I’m deeply saddened by the death and destruction in my community. I have no more information than anyone else at this time and it’s best that I bite my tongue for now.
