TLDR; This is an article for the followers of Scott Adams who are scientifically proven to be smarter and better looking than any other group on the internet. This article is to persuade you to buy “Counter Wokecraft” by Charles Pincourt with James Lindsay. Wokeness is a self-replicating totalitarian script. I’d also like to persuade the publisher to sell 10-packs for tactical purchasers. Scroll to the end for a killer anti-woke tactic.
I’ve written about Minnesota Nice for years. I’ve heard it called Critical Social Justice, Stereotype Accuracy Resistance Syndrome (SARS), Critical Theory, Marx Hysteria, Utopiate Addiction, and more recently, “Wokeness.”
It’s been described as a parasitic condition, a religion, cancer, and even compared to figurative vampires and werewolves. I’ve written about how it spreads like a totalitarian virus, hidden behind socially-enforced taboos.
It’s a script designed to replicate itself until the whole world is “awakened” to their worldview.
The Woke are characterized by extreme moral confidence of the correctness of their position. They reject any evidence that contradicts their vision of the world. Spreading the ideology – self-replicating – is the only goal.
Scott Adams referred to cognitive dissonance following the Rittenhouse verdict as a function of the Left’s Grievance Filter. (22:07) This is the most accurate description since Gad Saad’s Parasitic Mind.
Histrionic signaling and taboo enforcement of irrational or pathological ideas, word games, and a complete lack of awareness of optics, are all hallmarks of Wokism.
For those uninitiated, the central Woke idea is that individuals are either oppressed or privileged, and that everyone is a “subject” of their group identity.
The Oppressed (™) deserve resources, rights, and care to make up for historical wrongs. The Oppressors (™) should give up resources and rights to atone for their guilt.
A new book by Charles Pincourt, published by New Discourses, suggests that “Woke” is a minority takeover movement, with the grand tactic being Total. Woke. Viral. Infection.
According to Pincourt, Wokeness is a verb. A set of actions and tactics designed to corrupt every institution, including marriage and the family, in an attempt to perfect the thoughts and words of every individual.
The personal is political, the private is political has been the grand strategy for so long, even your medical decisions are now used to determine your Party fitness.
Mass hysteria is the conspicuous feature of our time. Counter Wokecraft offers practical tactics toward a partial solution.
It’s the first book focused entirely on the Woke tactics and the countertactics. It’s concise, immensely readable, and I would like to suggest the publisher sell shrink-wrapped, 10-pack gift bundles. This article is a primer for some of the key ideas of the book, but you really should buy the book to learn more.
Some of the most important takeaways:
They Exaggerate Consensus
According to Pincourt, and my own observations, the Woke are actually a very small minority. These people know what they’re doing. The Woke Proximate or Woke Adjacent will parrot whatever the Woke say, regardless of how stupid it is or sounds.
The dumber the belief, the better it wears like a Party uniform.
The Opportunists don’t necessarily believe the Woke Ideology, but will lie on their college applications, or for job and contract opportunities in order to get along.
From an influence perspective, this is an exploitation of social proof. From a coercion perspective, it’s designed to imply a mob.
They Lie – A List of Words Indicating Wokeness
To give the illusion of consensus, they use innocuous-sounding words: Critical, Decolonization, Discourse, Diversity, Empowerment, Equity, Inclusion, Intersection, Justice, Liberation, Knowledge, Narrative, Perspective, Privilege, Racism, and Anti-Racism.
It’s hard to object to these buzzwords without sounding like a total asshole. It’s a social and intellectual honeytrap, designed to infiltrate bureaucratic structures.
They’ll hide nefarious intentions behind innocent-sounding phrases.
Pincourt and others refer to this as a “Motte and Bailey Fallacy,” named after the Medieval Motte and Bailey defensive strategy. The Woke take a very defensible position, “CRT is just Black History,” and then when the dust settles, come out to the Motte position (an indefensible, unpalatable, position) after it’s too late to stop them.
Warning: Be on alert for the word, “JUST!”

They Bully
These groups will bully the Uniformed, the Uninitiated, the Woke Dissidents, and the Potential Woke Dissidents by using classic Woke Bullying tactics. When faced with evidence that contradicts their worldview, the Woke will use ad hominem attacks, belittling, and self-congratulating faux-sophistication to silence dissent.
The Woke use bullying and de-platforming to silence anyone who contradicts their politically correct, advertiser-friendly version of reality. They believe marginalized people would be harmed if they were to hear facts or opinions that counter the Narrative.
They will be offended on behalf of anyone and claim to be the authentic voice of grievance.
The Woke Tantrum and social punishment for taboo violation is just one of the many tactics described in Counter Wokecraft. You can find evidence in Theo Olson’s, 2015 Incident in St. Paul Public Schools, Evergreen College, Jordan Peterson’s C16 mob, The Australian Red Pill Movie Hysteria, the George Floyd riots, and Kenosha.
You’ll pay for going against the narrative.
They Subvert
Wokeness is not just a set of colossally bad ideas, but an activist movement. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s people working with the same general vision. It is the iron law of woke corruption.
Woke is a verb. They aim to seize the means of cultural production at all costs, subverting liberal decision-making along the way.
Critical Theorists Create More Critical Theorists
Pincourt describes three levels of forcefulness the Woke use to infiltrate institutions that create culture or knowledge, laws or power. They’ve infiltrated schools, corporations, media, the legal system, and the government.
What stage do you think they are in now?
Fighting Back
The Woke Ideology is anti-real, anti-scientific, and totalitarian. It uses jargon, stress, and dark persuasion to blur boundaries and to confuse simplicity. It uses social proof, media, and social media as coercive persuasion. Woke incursions and bullying tactics drain you of the energy to fight them.
Any organization that is susceptible to social pressure can easily fall into this organizational Stockholm Syndrome.
The objective was to keep slowly moving, unnoticed, until it was too late.
Fortunately, between 2016 – 2020 they overplayed their hand.
From papers literally bragging that women’s studies is actually a virus, to fiery but peaceful protests in Mpls, to “CRT isn’t real,” and finally to the Rittenhouse case, too many people have seen it now for the cat to go back in the bag.
A large and growing number of people have noticed this takeover and have tired of the lies and corruption.
A full third of Counter Wokecraft is packed with practical tactics to fight back against Woke Incursions at your institution.
I’m not going to go into great detail on all of these tactics, but will instead focus on one that will resonate the most with Scott Adams viewers. Scott might call it, “Entering the Frame.”
Pincourt refers to it as, “Storming the Motte and Bombing the Bailey.”
Accept the defensible argument. Be prepared with a truth bomb that thwarts or makes their incursion counter-productive.
You’ll never convince the Woke that their beliefs are anything but the Truth [sic].
If you’d like to stop these pathological incursions from collective anti-realists, then spreading awareness of the Woke Tactics is the best way. I’d encourage you to buy, “Counter Wokecraft” or to share the Executive Summary with your friends and family this holiday season.
I’d also like to encourage the publisher to create 10-packs that can be handed out during committee, board, and staff meetings.
That could be the most dramatic counter-tactic, by far.
