My first article series “There’s a Flaw in All Men, We’re Doomed and Only Women can Save the Day” partially explained the exploit in the human operating system that creates a substrate for certain moral panics to spread.
Roughly speaking, human valuation methods, the male stereotype, and men’s universal lack of ingroup bias drives disposability, especially under stress.
Women, independent of their preference for women or men, have a universal ingroup bias, according to the 2004 study that I reference.
I’ve taken great pains to update my model with different research studies and different cumulative evidence over 50 articles and to summarize the moral panics that begin or are catalyzed in Minnesota.
While I go into great detail in that original series to show how I arrived at my panic predictions, I’ve never put together a summary of my work. Here is that summary.
1) MN would be the epicenter of a worldwide panic.
Everywhere is downstream from MN. Despite being nearly landlocked, Minnesota is a major transportation hub. We have headwaters of the biggest river in North America and the furthest inland port city of the world.
We have an outsized impact on the culture.
Minnesota has some inescapable stress features, radically unpredictable weather, and mosquitos. Many local activists will tell you Minnesota is the most racist State in the country.
Duluth was one of the last public lynchings in the country and Mankato had the largest single-day mass execution in the country.
Several radical or authoritarian religious or women’s movements have catalyzed in Minnesota to become national or global movements (i.e., Prohibition/Volstead Act, Sex Offender Registries/Wetterling Act, the Duluth Model, the Marxist Pro Life Movement, Vatican II and Marxist Feminism).
Minnesotans are not too crazy about due process for men. The arrest of George Floyd and the trial of the cis, white, male, Chauvinist, pig who killed him were easy to predict. The largest spikes in interest in Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter follow Minnesota events.
2) There would be a sex trafficking moral panic.
In preparation for Superbowl LII, the University of Minnesota conducted the largest sex trafficking/prostitution patterns study of its kind. It was distributed to law enforcement worldwide and had a local media blitz.
Every local newspaper, public access station, and news outlet ran this story.
The day care sex hysteria of the 1980’s began in Jordan, Minnesota and the abduction of Jacob Wetterling caused congress to include Sex Offender Registries to the Violence Against Women Act / Biden Crime Bill.
Six Weeks from this original prediction, QAnon started on 4Chan and spread from there.
3) There would be a white nationalism moral panic.
A local BLM activist shared a photo of an alleged lynching that went viral with the message, “They out here lynching us!” It did not matter this was actually a 50-year-old white man who’d committed suicide in an East Side Park that is built on ancient indian burial grounds.
A bomb exploding at a local mosque and an explosion at a local school were called “acts of terrorism” in the media and by then Gov. Mark Dayton. Emily Claire Hari, “a misunderstood pacifist” was not a white-nationalist and was later sentenced as a woman for the bombing of the mosque.
The school explosion turned out to be from a gas leak.
Governor Dayton, a member of the Democratic Farm Labor Party (DFL) is also an heir to the Dayton’s, Hudsons, Marshall Fields, B. Dalton, and Target Corporations.
The week following my white nationalism panic prediction, the events in Charlottesville took place.
Since then, President Joe Biden has declared White Nationalism to be a bigger threat than both Chinese and Russian cyberthreats. The biggest security problem in the nation, in fact.
4) The Women committing retail fraud moral panic.
Jennifer Kline, both Mrs. Minnesota 1989 and Mrs. America runner up that same year and ShopNBC/EVINE Live host was convicted of swindling a department store of up to $5,000 by switching price tags on clothing she purchased.
This was all I needed to know that this messaging would reverberate around local media and networks of women. Women commit an overwhelming percentage of retail fraud and Minnesota is home to several major retail networks.
My original 2017 article referenced the now closed W. Broadway Target store, which had been the National Loss Prevention Training and Surveillance Equipment Testing Center.
Following the arrest of George Floyd, the 3rd precinct building was burned and Target Lake Street directly across the street was looted.
The Target Lake St. store happened to be the current National Loss Prevention Training and Surveillance Equipment Testing Center for the corporation. Target has been widely criticized as a progressive company whose practices turn its Black neighbors into suspects.
Following changes in local shoplifting laws, and a series of high profile smash and grab incidents, CEOs of major retailers lobbied Congress for help. This story has been very widely reported in right-wing media.
5) Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would run for President,
Yeah, people laughed about prediction number four, too.
