Sins of the Father’s Day Weekend

I’ll always remember April 1st as the day Black Lives Matter activists stood before a microphone at the Hennepin County Government Center and called for Mohamed Noor to become the first MN cop to face trial.

Noor had shot a white woman.

Noor’s police counter ambush training was put in place due to a nationwide uptick in police ambushes by Black Lives Matter activists.  Under pressure for a conviction from Black Lives Matter activists that evidence was excluded from the trial.

Every day of this trial felt like April Fool’s Day. Noor, a Somali of Color, was sacrificed to the narrative that police only kill Black people. He was the first Minnesota officer ever charged, tried, or convicted of Murder.

His murder conviction was overturned, but not before he’d already served out his sentence for manslaughter.

The elements of neither crime were met. His crime other than following his training was getting in the way of Black Lives Activists and a pile of money, which is a felony in the State of Minnesota.

Memorial Day weekend in Mpls will, of course, always be remembered for the death of George Floyd and the international outrage at MPD policy. Floyd was being detained while violating Minneapolis Mask guidance.

Juneteenth weekend in Mpls will now always be remembered as the day Derrick John Thompson Black Lives Matter ran a red light and killed five Somali teenage girls on their way to a wedding.

Who could forget the July 4th when Derrick John Thompson’s father, State Representative John Thompson, was arrested in East St. Paul for not having a license plate?

In that traffic stop, during the summer of mostly peaceful pipe bombs, hit and runs, carjackings, and murder, John Thompson claimed that St. Paul Police only pull over Black people. This would come as a surprise to the majority white district which Thompson represented.

Perhaps, his obviously distorted perspective can be explained by the fact that his driver’s license made it clear he didn’t actually live in the State of Minnesota, as is required of people serving as Minnesota State Representatives.

Following a court date for disorderly conduct at a hospital, State Representative John Thompson said, “Who I fight for and who I represent are people who look just like me” he continues, “sometimes there are legal ramifications for that” concluding with “but I’m going to continue to fight for people who look just like me.”

It’s almost like the laws State Representative John Thompson was making at the State Capitol do not apply to people who look like State Representative John Thompson.

Perhaps those exempted from law must look like him, and also be named John Thompson.

In very first article I ever wrote, which compared reactions to the deaths of Otto Warmbier and Philando Castile, I stated:

In the US, when a Black man is shot by police, the local media usually runs the highest quality, most easily accessible image. More often than not, this is conveniently supplied by the government. One reason the media might run that image versus a social media image is that seeing a mugshot makes some people more comfortable that the system is working just fine and that the world is a just place to live in.

In the Twin Cities, when a Black man is shot by police, his race and the race of the officers who shot him are immediately plastered everywhere across local media.

As quickly as possible, anointed “Community Leaders” put on histrionic displays demanding justice, accountability, and the names of the officers involved.  A video of the event edited for emotional effect follows a warning that you’re about to be shocked.

Usually within a day, the grieving mother or an aunt is paraded in front of TV cameras ensuring white Progressive and Black moral outrage.

The pattern is so clear it’s become a joke people tell in private. This moral outrage can be exploited to justify any number of demands, maladaptive, or antisocial behavior. Without naming names, some have wreaked of playing a game for cash and prizes. To use Valerie Castile’s words, it’s like a “Fucked up Mother’s Club.”

Contrast this media pattern of social manipulation to waking up on New Year’s Eve 2020 to hear of the year-end killing of “A Man.”

One might think the media would be clawing for details to get to the public about this year-end killing in the same neighborhood as the biggest story of the year. The biggest civil rights story of the century!

But no, as late as Jan. 2nd, the New York Times published an article with no details as to who was killed by MPD, or why. Apparently, some lives matter more than other lives.

On Martin Luther King Day 2020, long-time Minneapolis resident Ron Edwards, a Black free speech and civil rights activist, died of a mysterious chest flu. Several anti-free speech activists and Democrat politicians celebrated his death. In one of his final episodes on Minneapolis Public Access, he spoke of the importance of free speech in a Democracy.  He warned that Minneapolis Public Access was threatened in part by a new generation of activists in the City Govt. that wanted full narrative control.

Within weeks of his death, his fear came true. The City of Minneapolis had pulled the cable charter from their long-standing contract and seized Minneapolis Television Network’s equipment two weeks to the day before George Floyd.

The Minneapolis Television Network was a major source for Somali news across the globe and there were several Somali television shows that ran there for decades. Those voices were forced to find other outlets that now subjected them to censorship.

It was also the last media outlet in the city where a Black Voice not chanting the same Black Lives Matter slogans and priorities could be heard.

While State Representative John Thompson’s tragedies are in the news this Father’s Day and Juneteenth Eve, it reminds me of the death of the son of another local Black Lives Matter activist on the first day of Black History Month Feb. 1st, 2022.

The son of Cortez Rice, Black Lives Matter activist, was killed in a school whose superintendent, Sandra Lewandowski, who proudly used CRT as a tool, had removed the metal detectors.

Jahmari Rice was shot and killed while his father was in the workhouse for threatening Judge Chou in the Kim Potter trial.

A TikTok video following the settlement in that case showed the family dancing in celebration of the riches they were about to squander.

In the meantime, Jahmari was dead. The following day, Amir Locke was killed in a surprise raid looking for his cousin, Mekhi Speed, a former classmate of Jahmari who’d recently murdered Otis, Elder a Black father of 4 in cold blood.

My first series began with John Thompson’s friend, Philando Castile. Minnesota grieved Philando, I grieved Philando, and shared Thompson’s outrage.  I was not surprised when Officer Geronimo Janez was exonerated. No police officer at that time had ever been charged in Minnesota.

Thompson demanded that Mohamed Noor get unprecedented charges, and along with a group of well meaning terrorists, pressured the State of Minnesota into making an example of him.

The same group of well meaning terrorists pressued the State of Minnesota into also making an unfair trial for Derek Chauvin.

Specific members of that well meaning terrorist group who called for unprecedented charges and trial and charges against Noor, feigned OUTRAGE that Officer Kim Potter was given less of a sentence than Noor.

They demanded his head, then used him as proof of “Systemic Racism.”

I don’t mean Black Lives Matter, generally, I mean State Representative John Thompson and very specific members of Valerie Castile’s Fucked Up Mother’s Club.

Many Somalis in Minnesota and around the world know about Black Lives Matter and State Representative John Thompson calling for Noor’s head.  Many know about the exculpatory evidence that was withheld from the jury.  Many know that the City of Minneapolis still hasn’t bothered to answer the Jury’s questions.

Today, State Representative John Thompson awoke to find out his son had killed 5 beautiful Somali Teenage Girls. After threatening to burn down Hugo, Minnesota and smearing innocent Minnesotans as “White Supremacists” and “Descendents of Duluth, Minnesota lynch mobs harboring the Grand Wizard of the KKK” many are now calling for revenge on Thompson.

State Representative John Thompson and his terror network exploiting international outrage, demanded and insisted under threat of arson, that Mohamed Noor, Derek Chauvin, and Kim Potter get unfair treatment under the law.  Whether they did get fair justice is a matter of dispute.

What is not in dispute is that the son is not the father.

I ended my first series begging the world to ensure Mohamed Noor get fair treatment under the law.

Today, Father’s Day, at the beginning of this series, I ask that Derrick John Thompson get a fair trial, no matter the international outrage he is now facing.
