Social status is conferred to those who successfully ignore stereotypical behavior of Women or BIPOC, and reports of stereotypical behavior. Expressions of belief or observations of any stereotype accuracy, are met with contempt or social ostracisation.
MN Nice is a type of politically correct Wokemare Asch Conformity meets Dunning-Kruger Effect, also known as the Lake Wobegon Effect. It’s been on the rise since the 1980’s.
In the 90’s, the self esteem movement hit fertile ground in Minnesota and the ground was especially fertile in Minneapolis. If self esteem was good, reasoned Minneapolis educators, it’ll be doubly good for inner city kids, whose fathers have been Duluth-Modeled out of the house.
It should be mentioned, Minnesota has the worst educational disparity in the country.
Decades of MN Nice self-censorship have led to a sort of, “Lake Wobegon Affective Disorder” – an unintended consequence from decades of history making implementations of unchecked, fashionable, politically-correct policies.
The power of Women, BIPOC or the State can not be scrutinized.
The Minnesota Postmodern Legal System (MPLS) has recently been on full display with the arrest of George Floyd and the trial of Derek Chauvin, and will eventually surface again with the trial of Kim Potter.
The current viral spread of groupthink hysteria is epicentered in Minneapolis/St. Paul, a conveniently landlocked couple of cities, full of lakes, surrounded by swamps, smack dab in the center of North America.
If you watched the public reactions to the arrest of George Floyd or the trial of Derek Chauvin, you’ve already witnessed Lake Wobegon Affective Disorder in action.
One example would be ignoring, belittling, or ostracizing anyone who acknowledges the belligerent hysteria of the Memorial Day crowd.
Reactions to professional MMA fighter, Donald Williams, or Minneapolis firefighter Genevieve Hansen and are judged by how effectively they ignore belligerence or hysteria.
High-status people are repulsed at the mere suggestion that a professional fighter or firefighter, in their own city, is histrionic, threatening, or unprofessional.
Here is a video of a protestor, fitting William’s description, wearing identical lime green shoes to Williams, a Northside Boxing hoodie and hat Williams is known to wear throwing a brick through a squad car window. St. Paul Police indicate there was an arrest and charges in the incident but refuse to identify the perpetrator publicly by name.
People violate these victim sanctity taboos at the risk of losing position or ostracization for not sticking to the narrative, “Free speech has consequences,” say the faithful.
Another notable, more extreme example of this Postmodern Corruption, is the semi-retired Minnesota medical examiner, who volunteered 100’s of hours researching literature on neck restraints.
During the Chauvin trial, she found reason to dismiss evidence from a study of 3,000 Canadian arrest incidents, all using similar neck restraints, because it contradicted the lived experience of US Medical Examiners.
These US Medical Examiners, who are reporting an alarming increase in police homicides, despite no actual statistical evidence that these numbers are actually increasing.
Wobegonian-reasoning tells us that reality is socially constructed and like-minded Wobegonians will validate and justify any illogical, irrational reasoning, or unethical, narrative-affirming behavior.
This would all be academic, or comedic, if it didn’t have real world consequences.
- The arrest of George Floyd sent outrage through a worldwide network triggering “Racism” and “BLM” searches to reach an all time high. (The second highest peak since Philando Castile, also from Minnesota.)
- Minnesota has the worst educational racial disparity in the country. It exports legal models like sex-offender registries, the Duluth Model, and the Abby Honold Act (AHA), to other locations. These policies are guaranteed to put marginalized males at even further systemic disadvantage.
Downstream Effects
Human males who can’t compete will spread chaos and criminality – take for instance: Antifa, Proud Boys, and school shooters.
A steady drumbeat of moral outrage generated from within Minnesota’s Postmodern Legal System (MPLS), is all but guaranteed.
The killing of Daunte Wright by officer Kim Potter is likely to be the next MPLS induced outrage to send amplified ripples of stress, anxiety, and hysteria throughout the entire legal, political, and educational complexes of North American and beyond.
Perhaps this is all coincidence, or perhaps there’s some connection. In either event, wokeness seems to be a religion, and the affected people seem to be connected by some sort of socially spread, physical contagion.
True Believers and sneaky fuckers, uniting to spread luxury ideas.
I believe computational humor may be one of the only solutions to break this nasty cycle.
