Minneapolis Hires First Openly White Male Police Chief

AI Generated Art of the phrase "Minneapolis Police"

Minneapolis demonstrated its progressive credentials and presented itself as the leader in police chiefing by hiring Brian O’Hara, the first openly White Male Police Chief in the country since George Floyd.

“We never thought we’d see leadership positions in the public sector again,” said Rachel Dolezal, President of the National Advancement of White Men Association (NAWMA), just before their headquarters burned down by a mob for existing.

Senator Mayor Jacob Frey, Mayor of Minneapolis, also a white male has publicly said he believes in white supremacy, white nationalism, white privilege, and climate change.

In 2020, Frey promised Black residents and business owners in the area surrounding George Floyd Square that the police would clear out the roadblocks and unsightly barricades.

White neighborhoods in Minneapolis have historically had all of the barriers removed for white access to their homes and businesses.

Perpetuating this white privilege while failing to remove the barriers from Black owned businesses and residents is unacceptable for the white mayor of a majority white city, in 2022.

@CrimeWatchMpls who has a long history of making racist and sexist comments said in a statement today “I don’t care what color or sex new police chief is.” Attitudes like this have long hindered social justice in Minnesota.

According to Senator Mayor Frey, “The Citizens spoke loud and clear, they want a reform-minded candidate who’s also able to drive down crime.”

That’s a pretty tall order for a white police chief in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

George Floyd Square, where George Floyd was murdered, is the known center of white supremacy in North America while simultaneously being the center of a new global movement in civil rights.

We have come so far in Minnesota that we can hire an openly white police chief and serve as a model for other states to follow. He may even be able to use his white privilege to open up George Floyd Square for the Black owned businesses still struggling there.
