Derrick John Thompson
Following the death of his coworker, Philando Castile, in 2016, John Thompson Sr. was ‘on point for BLM.’ In other words, he was out front for the Black Lives Matter movement in MN. He was willing to be out front, facing the risks and paying costs while others held signs and screamed from behind masks.
The cognitive dissonance on his face and in his words calling for the prosecution and maximum penalty for Mohamed Noor was telling. I got the impression that the other BLM leadership sent him because they didn’t want their face associated with demanding prosecution of a Black cop.
Thompson had already intersected the Jewel Eldora story a couple of times. I’ll explain in a future article that I’d like to share with him and Castile’s mother, Valerie, one day.
John Thompson made national prominence screaming at the people of “Hugo, MN!” who he claimed are the descendants of the lynchers in Duluth. He also claimed Alpha News Documentarian, Liz Collins’ husband, Bob Kroll, was the Grand Wizard of the KKK. He made sure the white girls in the neighbor’s garage knew the narrative was more important than they were. “‘We’ just burned down Mpls, you think we care about Hugo, Minnesota?”
He then led the very intersectional crowd of mostly white women cheering white beating Collins and Kroll in effigy, in their own driveway.
Bob Kroll had a habit of publicly questioning the BLM narrative. He was blocked from testifying in Mohamed Noor’s defense as the Union President for Mohamed Noor, and had retired by the time of Derek Chauvin’s trial.
For the better part of the decade, I’d heard the Qarins say Bob Kroll’s name as a curse. You can hear They / Them screaming with delight as the custom Cop and Blonde Pinata sends a clear message.
With his duties complete in Hugo, Minnesota, Derek Thompson was then elected to represent the neighborhood I grew up in, the same St. Paul district where Kroll’s father had been a cop decades before.
A few months later, State Representative John Thompson was pulled over by St Paul Police for having no front license plate, and he set to work playing his State Representative card.
This is how it was discovered, despite his being an MN State Representative, that he holds a Wisconsin driver’s license due to his unmet child support obligations in Minnesota.
I can assure State Representative John Thompson that plenty of white men get pulled over in East St. Paul with no license due to falling behind in their child support.
During this time, Derrick John Thompson, son of State Representative John Thompson, had served a small portion of the 8-year sentence for a California Hit and Run. He was out in time to celebrate Juneteenth on Father’s Day Weekend.
Running from police, he crossed Lake Street doing 100 miles per hour, killing five young Somali girls on their way to a wedding.
As the wedding had several international guests, and the murder was so gruesome, news spread internationally. I spent that evening tweeting with observers in Mogadishu.
As if on payroll, protestors were at the State Capitol carrying pictures of the girls, calling for reparations and an end to high-speed chases.
In court, Derrick John Thompson blamed the murder on his brother, but was eventually sentenced to 58 years.
Derek Chauvin
Mr. Mrs. Minnesota was convicted of killing George Floyd and is serving 22.5 years in mostly solitary confinement.
When he was stabbed by a fellow inmate on Thanksgiving Day, the Qarins openly celebrated.
